What a joy is was to be the photographer for Emily and Adam’s Notley Abbey wedding. In the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, surrounded by beautiful, kind people – it really was the best of days.
THE WALLS BREATHE ROMANCE
So when Emily said she was getting married there and would I photograph it for her – I was absolutely thrilled. And boy it did not disappoint. After a couple of rearrangements (thanks Covid) Emily and Adam finally got married in August.
Notley Abbey is everything you would imagine from a movie stars romantic countryside manor. Set in beautiful Buckinghamshire landscape , The tree lined entrance is just spectacular, and the manor walls breathe romance.
I joined Emily while she was getting ready with her wonderful friends and family on hand. Her make up was expertly done by the lovely team of beauty gurus.
Why I love wedding photography at Notley Abbey?
Notley Abbey has a such a lovely feel and the staff are super helpful. It really is one of the loveliest places to get married in Buckinghamshire. The venue offers amazing food – and there are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photos.
The ceremony was held in the Abbot’s Hall – which has the most wonderful light – and that made me very happy indeed! Then into the grounds for photos, canapes and much laughing! Emily and Adam organised a singer and guitarist, Bertie Taylor, to help proceedings and her dad even helped out too!
Speeches and dinner was held in The Monk’s Refectory – a wonderful and apt setting! The speeches were hilarious, and emotional, everything you’d want.
Emily and Adam chose not to do a first dance – but that was ok because Emily’s dad was awesome at keeping everyone on the dance floor for dancing! Along with the fab band who stepped in at the last moment when covid struck down members of the previously booked band.
All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with so much laughter, much hugging and crying. I drove away smiling. Happy days. And Emily’s review leaves me a bit speechless!
